WHERE we were
General Counsel returns to Cambridge. Jonathan Smith hadn't truly visited Cambridge since his undergraduate degree. Twenty years later and after a fifteen years stint with Fujitsu, latterly as their General Counsel (UK&IRL), Jonathan returned to Cambridge to film a video about his experiences as an in-house lawyer within a large multinational. Following his talk-show debut, Jonathan met ten of Campbell Black's closest business colleagues for lunch. The executives represented Vix Technology, Mediatek, The Centre for Business Innovation, Cornwall Energy and other serial entrepreneurs.
What’s NEW
Jonathan's answer to the question below was fascinating.
Rob asked "who was your ultimate client?"
He answered "my ultimate client was a little old lady from Osaka I've never met."
Offbeat CHATTER
Lunch was lively with unfortunately no wine consumed. Not that Campbell Black would have stopped this. We believe the Executive Search companies of the future can be as well dressed, well thought of and well just a little bit tipsy just like the mad men of the 60’s.
Next lunchtime we’re making drinking mandatory. Technological discovery is only one glass of wine away. Or one shot if you’re Mexican or one flagon if you’re a Viking. Maybe we’ll make it Viking themed. Inappropriate headwear mixed with inappropriate drinking leads to even more innovative technological discovery. Here’s hoping…
